Gorodetsky, Draper Earn Weekly CCC Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – After posting a 2-0 record and capturing the Manchester PAL/Stovepipe Tournament title, two members of the Wentworth Institute of Technology ice hockey team have been honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference with weekly awards. Senior Georgy Gorodetsky (Yekaterinburg, Russia) and sophomore Thomas Draper (Binghamton, N.Y.) were named player and goaltender of the week, respectively. The awards cover games played from November 25-December 1.

Gorodetsky, who earned his second CCC Player of the Week nod this season, earned tournament most valuable player honors after posting seven points over two games. In a 7-2 win over UMass Dartmouth, he recorded a career high five points, coming on two goals and three assists. Four of his five points came during the Leopards' six unanswered goals, which propelled them to victory. He followed that up with a pair of assists in a 6-1 win over Morrisville in the championship game. Gorodetsky leads the team in goals (six), assists (five), and points (11).

Draper played all 120 minutes between the pipes for the Black & Gold, posting a 1.50 goals against average and a .919 save percentage. He turned aside 18 shots in the 7-2 win over UMass Dartmouth and made 16 saves in the 6-1 win over Morrisville. In the game against UMass Dartmouth, he also recorded an assist, the first of his career. Draper has played in eight games this season (seven starts), posting a 3-4 record with a 3.77 goals against average and a .880 save percentage.

Winners of two straight, Wentworth (4-5-1) closes out first semester play on Saturday with a CCC game at Becker.
