Three from Men's Soccer Earn All-CCC Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Three members of the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's soccer team have been honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference as all-conference selections. The announcement was made after the CCC released its 2019 all-conference honorees and major award winners on Thursday afternoon.

Endicott's Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) took home two awards as he was named the Offensive Player of the Year as well as the CCC Scholar-Athlete. His teammate Zach Regulbuto (Somers, Conn.) was the Rookie of the Year. Junior back Casey Kelly (Waldwick, N.J.) was named Defensive Player of the Year and his coach Craig O'Rourke II received his second straight CCC Coach of the Year nod. Gordon was the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship award.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the nine CCC head men's soccer coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

For the Leopards, junior midfielder Ryan Firmin (Gorham, Maine) was named First Team All-CCC, senior forward Griffin Price (Allendale, N.J.) was named second team all-conference, and, representing the Black & Gold on the third team was junior defender John Dauphin (Yorba Linda, Calif.).

While often times he may not appear in the stat sheet, Firmin has made his presence known on the field all season long, primarily from a defensive midfield role and has been the Leopards' most consistent player. Often tasked with marking the opposing team's most dangerous player, he is constantly breaking up opponent attacks and keeps everyone involved by connecting passes all over the field to start the Wentworth attack. In 50 career games (43 starts) he also has three points (one goal, one assist) to his credit.

Price makes his second appearance on the CCC All-Conference Team, having been named to the first team as a sophomore. This season he leads the team in goals (five) and points (three) while his three assists rank him third on the team. Price recorded a pair of game-winning goals, including scoring in the 88th minute to give Wentworth a 1-0 win at Endicott on October 19. For his career, he has played in 59 games (42 starts), scoring 22 goals and assisting on eight others for 52 points. Six of his goals have been game-winning goals and he is tied for sixth on the Leopards all-time list for both goals and game-winning goals while ranking seventh in total points.

A versatile, two-way player for the Black & Gold, Dauphin has helped hold down a back line which has allowed one or fewer goals six times this season, including posting four shutouts. The team's primary taker of free and corner kicks, he has set up numerous scoring chances for his teammates, which has resulted in a team-high nine assists. His lone goal of the season held up as the game-winning marker in a 3-2 win over Gordon on September 14 and his 11 points this season are second on the team. For his career, he has appeared in 46 games (40 starts) and has 16 points, coming on two goals and 12 assists.

As the number three seed in the CCC Tournament, Wentworth (9-7-2, 5-3-0) hosts sixth-seeded Roger Williams (8-5-5, 3-2-3) in a first-round matchup on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
