GORHAM, Maine – Junior Joe Aronov  (Andover, Mass.) and freshman Luis Godoy (Newton, Mass.) highlighted the New Year for Wentworth indoor track and field with two new school records on Saturday afternoon at the University of Southern Maine Open Invite.

Aronov, Wentworth's first pole vaulter in program history, improved on his school record with a 4.2m (13'11") mark, good for second place overall. Aronov has already qualified for the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship to be held at the end of February.

Godoy hauled the shot put 11.81m (39'9"), surpassing his previous record-breaker of 11.28m that he set at his first collegiate meet. Godoy finished fifth overall, and second among collegians. Sophomore Hunter Wintle (Detroit, Maine) rounded out solid performances from the field, and won the triple jump with a mark of 12.19m (39'1").

The Leopards also took first place in the distance medley relay, run in order by sophomore Tyler Cosma (Center Moriches, N.Y.), freshman Collin Killiany (Cazenovia, N.Y.), sophomore Will Allen (West Hartford, Conn.), and senior Josh Gangemi (Norton, Mass.). Gangemi earlier took second place in the 800m run, and finished at 2:03.85.
