BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Sarah Galan (Colchester, Mass.) has been named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for her performance during the Leopards' 2-0 start to the season. The honor is bestowed upon Galan for games played on March 6th and March 8th.
Galan scored five goals with two assists for seven points during her first two appearances on the field for Wentworth. The Leopards downed Chatham University and Saint Joseph's (Me.) in their spring break trip to Puerto Rico, as Galan had multi-goal performances in each contest.
She started the week with a bang, scoring four points off two goals and two assists against the Cougars, and closed the trip with her first collegiate hattrick against the Monks. Galan also picked up four ground balls, won six draw controls, and caused two turnovers across the two games.
Wentworth hosts Emmanuel tonight at 6:00 p.m. for its home opener.
