HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In the 32nd minute, freshman Macy Paquin (Somerset, Mass.) found a sprinting Poratti on the left flank, who finished far-post to open the scoring at 1-0 in favor of Wentworth. Wentworth held a 6-3 advantage in shots after the first 45 minutes.
  • A corner kick by freshman Sherly Feliz (Salem, Mass.) ignited Wentworth's offensive push in the second half, as Poratti netted her second goal of the game, this time unassisted, in the 57th minute.
  • USM converted on its first shot on target in second-half action as Alex Allain shrunk the gap to a single goal, 2-1, finishing off a service from teammate Emma Denninson. The Huskies struck again just two minutes later, but junior keeper Allison Haynes (Shelton, Conn.) denied the attempt.
  • Sophomore Ashley Molnar (Northridge, Calif.) scored her first goal of the season to secure Wentworth's two-goal victory in the 80th minute, finishing a pass from Poratti inside the six-yard-box.
