Chapman Named First CCC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Jordan Chapman (Clearwater, Fla.) broke open the new season as the first Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball rookie of the week, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Chapman made her mark as one of Wentworth's primary setters, leading the Leopards to a 2-2 week at the 2019 Pacific Coast Classic. She averaged 5.80 assists and 2.20 digs per set for 87 total assists alongside 33 digs.

In just her second collegiate match, Chapman set the single-match record for assists in four sets with 38 in a 3-1 win over Occidental. She was just shy of a double-double in the Leopards' first win of the season with nine digs alongside her impressive passing.

In the final two matches of the tournament, Chapman dished out double-digit assists, first with 14 assists in a 3-0 win over Redlands, and left the Golden State with 26 assists in a 3-2 setback to Pomona Pitzer.

The Leopards will play their first East Coast game on Thursday night for a 7:00 p.m. match at Simmons College.
