Women's Volleyball Sweeps CCC Weekly Awards

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth women's volleyball team took home all three Commonwealth Coast Conference weekly awards as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.

For the second week in a row, senior Leah Rogoz (Woodridge, Ill.) was named as offensive player of the week, while classmate Lexie Cambray (Bedford, N.H.) earned libero of the week for the first time this season. Freshman Jordan Chapman (Clearwater, Fla.) was tabbed as the conference rookie of the week, and has won six of the eight rookie awards.

The Leopards went 3-0 last week and improved to 18-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play, defeating Curry (3-0), Regis (3-1) and Southern Maine (3-1).

Rogoz averaged 2.91 kills per set while swinging at a .211 clip, and also averaged 4.18 digs per set alongside 0.45 blocks. Her most productive game of the week came in a four-set win over Regis in which she had 18 kills and a season-high 27 digs for her twelfth double-double of the year. Rogoz, who had already etched her name in the Wentworth women's volleyball record books as the all-time kills leader, became the program's all-time points leader in the match against the Pride, and notched 19.5 in the four-set win.

Cambray backstopped the Leopard defense and averaged 4.18 digs per set in all three matches played. She registered double-digit digs in each contest, starting with 14 in a conference match against Curry. She followed up with 17 digs and 15 digs against Regis and Southern Maine, respectively, and also had four assists and two service aces during the week.

Chapman averaged 6.44 assists per set in Wentworth's undefeated week, and produced two 20+ assist performances in a tri-match against Regis and Southern Maine. She had 25 helpers against the Pride and closed the week with 29 against the Huskies. Chapman also had 10 digs during the week, plus five kills and a pair of service aces.

The Leopards will prepare for their most anticipated conference match of the season this week, as they head to Beverly, Mass. on Thursday evening for a 7:00 p.m. match at Endicott. The Gulls are current frontrunners in league standings with a 4-0 record in conference.
