BOSTON, Mass. – The 13th Leopard of the Week awards for the week of April 25-May 1 have been awarded to senior Sam Ferro (Whitman, Mass.) of the men's tennis team and freshman Katelin Howe (Bow, N.H.) of softball.
Ferro competed in one match for men's tennis last week, picking up a 7-5, 6-2 straight set victory in #6 singles as the Leopards defeated Gordon College 5-2 in the first round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. The team now turns to the CCC Tournament Semifinal, where they will take on Nichols College at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3.
Howe had a strong week at the plate for softball, batting .500 while playing in three games. The freshman had two multi-hit games for Wentworth, while scoring two runs and picking one RBI. The Leopards now advance to the postseason for the first time since 2005, facing off with Suffolk University Wednesday, May 4 at 12:15 p.m. on the campus of Endicott College.
