BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Tyler Klockars (Phillipstown, Mass.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology track and field team, and softball junior Erin Hancock (Holden, Mass.) were named the picked up Leopard of the Week awards for the week of May 2-May 8.

Klockars competed for the track team in the New England DIII Championships, competing in the javelin for the Leopards. He finished with a throw of 54.20 meters, shattering the previous school record in the process and placed fifth overall in the event.

Hancock played in three games for Wentworth this week, as softball made its first postseason appearance since 2005. She pitched 19 innings over the three games, allowing just two earned runs for a 0.74 ERA. The junior struck out 12 batters, issuing no walks and finishing with a 1-1 record. She also had a strong week at the plate, finishing with a .444 batting average while collecting four hits and two RBI, including an RBI double in the first round of the CCC Tournament against Suffolk University that sparked a Leopards comeback as Wentworth won 3-2.
