Pierce, Pettenger Named Leopards of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) of track and field and classmate Kaitlin Pettenger (Budd Lake, N.J.) of softball have been named Leopards of the Week for the week of March 6-12.

Pierce's outstanding indoor season came to a close with an eighth-place finish in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama on March 11. The senior's program-best 16.10M launch marked a new personal best and earned him eighth-place in the event, earning himself All-American honors. Pierce is the second Leopard in program history to be named an All-American, and the first since 2016.

Playing a major role in softball's 8-2 week over spring break, Pettenger went 17-32 at the plate, recording 7 RBI in the process while also notching a double against Dominican (Ill.) on March 11 and five stolen bases across the week. The senior cracked her 100th career hit against the Stars, becoming just the tenth player in program history to do so.
