HYDE PARK, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team played its first match of the year on Thursday afternoon; a tri-match hosted by Suffolk and also attended by the University of New England. The Leopards carded a 342, finishing second behind UNE (341) and defeating the host Rams (349).
Junior Jared Turgeon (Dover, N.H.) and sophomore Albert Duart (Lleida, Spain) each posted top-five finishes as Turgeon finished third with an 82 and Duart fourth with an 85. Senior Sancho Rodriguez (San Roque, Spain) finished tied for sixth with an 86, while senior Wil Eddy (Kingston, Mass.) tied for ninth with an 89. Junior Nick Kurtz (Dover, N.H.) shot a 91 on the day.
Wentworth is at the Western New England Invitational on April 15.
