HYDE PARK, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule with a dual match against Suffolk, which was played at Goerge Wright Golf Course. Playing the "play six, count five format," the Leopards were defeated, 408-419.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Senior Jared Turgeon (Dover, N.H.) finished second among the 12 golfers, shooting a six over 76 and missing medalist honors by just two strokes.
• Junior Ben Wright (Boxborough, Mass.) was two strokes behind Turgeon, finishing tied for third with a 78. Classmate Albert Duart (Lleida, Spain) was sixth with an 82.
• Freshman Nico Alonso (Madrid, Spain) placed ninth with an 89, while freshman Ryan Dandrea (Lakeville, Mass.) was 10th with a 94.
• Freshman Dan Clapp (Rehoboth, Mass.) competed in his first collegiate match, shooting a 95.
