Turgeon, Wright Earn All-CCC Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Jared Turgeon (Dover, N.H.) and junior Ben Wright (Boxborough, Mass.) each earned Second Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honors as the league released its major award winners and all-conference teams on Friday morning.

Voting for the major awards and All-CCC teams was conducted by the CCC golf coaches at the conclusion of the championship event.

For the second season in a row, Turgeon earned second team honors after he averaged 81.63 strokes per round, having played in all eight of the Leopards' rounds this season. He finished in the top 10 in five events this season, with three of those finishes putting him in the top three. He carded a career-best 75 at the Western New England Classic on April 18 to tie for fourth place and was second with a 76 in a dual match against Suffolk. He ends his career having played in 24 rounds with an 82.42 stroke average, which is fourth on the program's all-time list. In 19 career events, he had five finishes in the top five and 10 in the top 10.

In his first year with the program, Wright led the team in scoring average with at 81.50 stroke average. Playing in all seven events (eight rounds), Wright had four finishes in the top 10, with three of those placing him in the top five. He carded a career-low 77 in the first round of the 86th Annual NEIGA Championship and finished second when he shot an 81 in a dual match against Eastern Nazarene on September 21.
