WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team placed sixth at the Brett Williamson Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. The 10-team event was played at the par 71, 6,438-yard Tekoa Country Club.
The Leopards shot 346 as a team, finishing just two shots out of fifth place, which was claimed by the host Owls.
Freshman Ethan Lackner (Brooklyn, Conn.) led the way for the Black & Gold, shooting an 84 to place 15th. Senior Dan Clapp (Rehoboth, Mass.) tied for 16th after shooting an 85 while junior Nico Alonso (Madrid, Spain) tied for 21st with an 86. Freshman Ryan Vincent (Carver, Mass.) completed Wentworth's scoring golfers, shooting a 93 to tie for 36th.
Junior Luke Boccelli (Pepperell, Mass.) also competed for the Leopards, shooting a 94 to finish tied for 39th.
Wentworth next competes at the Mitchell Invitational on October 5.
