At the 6:35 mark, Dougherty gave the visitors a 2-0 lead.
  • The Leopards controlled play in the second period for the first 10-plus minutes, holding the Golden Bears without a shot on goal. The Black & Gold killed off a penalty late in the period, however, with two seconds left, Western New England increased its lead to 3-0 on a goal from Diamond.
  • Just 20 seconds into he third period, Wentworth got on the board. Graduate student Sean Healy (Quincy, Mass.) sent a pass through the zone to freshman Ian Worthley (Saugus, Mass.), who fed classmate Nikolas Sombrowski (Fernie, B.C.) for his fifth tally of the season.
  • Wentworth kept the pressure on, in an attempt to pull closer and pulled junior Will Oliver (Chesterfield, Mo.) for an extra attacker with 2:16 left. However, the Golden Bears scored a pair of empty net goals in a span of 1:56 to seal the win.
  • Oliver made 19 saves for the Black & Gold, who had a 33-24 shot advantage.
