BEVERLY, Mass. – Despite owning a 38-24 advantage in shots on goal, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's ice hockey team (3-6, 1-5 CCC) couldn't rally from being three goals behind the Endicott Gulls (4-2-1, 4-1-1 CCC), resulting in a 4-1 final score Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Endicott broke the ice just under two minutes into the contest as a pass across the slot by sophomore John Goldowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) made its way to freshman Michael Casey (Media, Pa.), who fired it underneath sophomore Jack McGovern (Ancaster, Ont.) to give the hosts a 1-0 edge.
• The Gulls doubled their lead on the powerplay with 3:41 to go in the first period as senior Connor Beatty (Concord, N.H.) tucked home a rebound, bringing the score to 2-0.
• Senior Cass Bowes (Sturgeon County, Alta.) raised Endicott's lead to three 8:10 into the second as a pass on the doorstep by senior Jimmy McIsaac (Winnipeg, Man.) to Bowes made its way to the back of the net.
• The Leopards cut the deficit to two with just over a minute left in the second frame as junior Jacob Shankar (Johnstown, Ont.) fed a streaking sophomore Nolan Lowe (Toronto, Ont.) in the high slot, with the sophomore potting the puck to bring the score to 3-1.
• Despite a third period push by the Leopards, featuring an 18-7 shots on goal advantage, junior Ryan Willett (Bayville, N.Y.) cashed in on the empty net with 1:48 to go in the third period, giving the hosts a 4-1 advantage.
• Junior Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) chalked up 37 saves on 38 shots for the Gulls while McGovern turned 20 aside in the setback.
