Bartosiewicz and Madden Earn All-CCC Honors

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team earned two all-conference awards this season, as graduate defender Danny Bartosiewicz (North Grafton, Mass.) was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference First-Team, and senior midfielder Erik Madden (Center Tuftonboro, N.H.) picked up Third-Team All-Conference honors.

Bartosiewicz recorded new career-highs this season with 72 ground balls and 33 caused turnovers. The senior, who earned CCC Defensive Player of the Week once this season and was named Third-Team All-CCC a season ago, picked up a season-high 12 ground balls and caused three turnovers in an 11-5 victory over Emmanuel College March 4. He also caused seven turnovers with six ground balls in a 14-6 win at Mount Saint Mary College (N.Y.) March 19.

Madden shattered all of his previous career-highs this season, setting new bests in goals (29) assists (19) and points (48). The senior recorded 68 shots on goal and scored one game-winner, coming in overtime in a 13-12 victory over Curry College April 13. He also pulled 18 ground balls and caused five turnovers, and tied a career-high with seven points April 23 at Salve Regina University, scoring twice and providing five assists.

The Leopards return to action at Roger Williams University Saturday, April 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the first round of the CCC Tournament.
