HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Wentworth wasted little time getting on the board as a pass from an Endicott defender found its way to sophomore Christopher Jimenez (Doral, Fla.). Jimenez took a shot from 30 yards out along the right side towards the net, where it bounced off the crossbar and down over the line at the 1:45 mark.
  • In the 25th minute, Endicott had a pair shot of shot attempts in front, however, the Leopards' defense blocked both the initial shot and the second-chance bid. With just under four minutes left in the half, senior Louis Quintero (Boston, Mass.) made a save on a senior Joe Akisik (Sudbury, Mass.).
  • Senior Augustin Edwin, Jr. (New Beford, Mass.) put a shot on early in the second half after Endicott had a corner kick but the save was made by sophomore Kyle Rosa (Norton, Mass.). Sophomore Raphael Ribero (Medford, Mass.) put a shot towards the lower left corner in the 55th minute that Rosa knocked away, leading to a corner kick.
  • Quintero made a pair of saves in a span of 17 seconds, including one on an Akisik attempt off a Gull corner kick. Wentworth countered with a shot in the 64th minute from junior Caleb Robbins (Mystic, Conn.) that was saved by Rosa.
  • Endicott evened the score at the 70:49 mark as freshman Konrad Krysztoforski (Bydgoszcz, Poland) made a run up the right wing and crossed a pass to junior Hayden Laske (Wethersfield, Conn.). Laske sent a pass across the box where freshman Ryan Gerry (Durham, Conn.) one-timed the attempt past Quintero.
  • In the 81st minute the Gulls had a header off a corner kick blocked and followed that up with a shot blocked and a shot off a corner kick going wide. Wentworth had a corner kick in the 85th minute, however, the shot attempt off the set piece went wide.
  • A shot from Akisik in the 87th minute was blocked and nearly kept in play by Quintero, however, the ball went out of bounds, resulting in an Endicott corner kick.
  • With 56 seconds left, senior TJ Prouty (Glendora, Calif.) put a shot on net from the top of the box, however, Rosa came up with the save.
  • Endicott pushed the ball forward, where junior Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) sent a pass to Fergusson in the middle of the box. Fergusson sent a shot in through traffic for the game winner.
  • Quintero finished with four saves. Endicott had an 18-8 shot advantage – including a 15-6 edge in the second half – and a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.

THE SERIES:

  • Today was the 28th all-time meeting between the two teams. Endicott leads 17-9-2 and has won the last three meetings.
