BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team picked up its first weekly award of the season, as sophomore Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week, as the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Gallegos went undefeated in all four matches this weekend, starting off with an 8-7 #1 doubles victory and a 6-1, 6-1 straight set victory in #2 singles action against Salve Regina University. The Leopards picked up their second win of the season, defeating the Seahawks 6-3.
The sophomore followed it up with another win in #1 doubles, defeating Suffolk University 8-4. He then won in straight sets again in #2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3.
The Leopards return to the court Wednesday, April 6 for a 3:00 p.m. matchup at Endicott College.
