Trio from Men's Tennis Garners CCC Postseason Accolades

BEVERLY, Mass. – After capping one of the program's most successful seasons ever with another appearance in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament, the Wentworth Institute of Technology men's tennis team had three student-athletes earn postseason accolades for their performance this season.

Senior Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) earned his fourth straight All-CCC nod, making the singles' second team for the fourth season in a row while the doubles duo of Gallegos and sophomore Rene Rodriguez (Doral, Fla.) earned a spot on the All-CCC Third Team for the second straight campaign. Freshman Manas Arya (Hessen, Germany) rounded out Wentworth's honorees by earning All-CCC Third Team honors for his singles play. In addition, the Leopards were one of two recipients of the conference's Team Sportsmanship Award.

The postseason awards were voted on by the league's eight head coaches prior to the start of the conference tournament.

Gallegos' second team honor comes on the heels of an 8-6 record at No. 1 singles in 2024 that featured three conference wins. With eight wins, the senior moved into sole possession of third all-time in singles wins with 30 with most of his wins coming at the No. 1 spot. Gallegos' career comes to a close with the senior earning All-CCC honors in singles play all four years of his career and in doubles play for three of the four.

The duo of Gallegos and Rodriguez went 9-2 this season playing both at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, including three wins in CCC play. Between the pair's two conference honors split over the last two seasons, they have combined for 14 wins, anchoring the Leopards' showings at doubles. Gallegos' 30 doubles wins ranks him third all-time in program history while Rodriguez's 12 wins in 2024 give him 19 through two seasons.

Arya battled his way to an All-CCC Third Team honor in his rookie season playing in the middle of the singles lineup for much of the season. Arya held an 8-5 record before moving up to No. 2 singles play as the Leopards geared up for the postseason, finishing the entire season with an 8-10 overall mark. Two of his wins came in CCC action while the rookie also recorded an 8-1 run between the beginning of March and April.

The Black & Gold made the CCC Tournament for the fourth straight season and finished with an overall record of 10-10.
