Track Finishes Indoor Season at Tufts National Qualifying Meet

MEDFORD, Mass. - The Wentworth Institute of Technology track and field team finished up the indoor portion of its schedule Saturday, March 5, as the Leopards ran at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet.

 

Wentworth had five runners competing in the qualifier, starting with freshmen Scott Stehlik (Northport, N.Y.) and Jacob Noonan (Windham, Maine), who ran in the men's 60-meter dash. Stehlik finished 15th overall with a time of 7.37 seconds, while Noonan was right behind him, crossing the line in 7.42 and coming in 16th.

 

Junior Christian Army (Pembroke, N.H.) competed in the men's 60-meter hurdle event for the Leopards, coming in at eighth overall and finishing in 8.79 seconds.

 

Juniors Kyle Moser (Southbury, Conn.) and Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) both took part in the men's shot put event, with Moser earning a sixth place finish with a throw of 15.07 meters, falling just short of his own team record. Pierce had a 13.24 meter throw, good for 10th place on the day.

 

The Leopards now turn their attention to the outdoor season, which will get underway Saturday, March 25. Wentworth will compete at the BSU Bears Invitational, hosted by Bridgewater State University at 10:00 a.m.
