BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Wentworth Institute of Technology track and field team brought in two Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) awards this week, as junior Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) was named CCC Field Athlete of the Week, while freshman Nate Muller (Concord, N.H.) received CCC Field Rookie of the Week Honors.

The Leopards competed in their first meet of the outdoor season Saturday, March 26, with the team setting eight new program records in the process. Pierce set a personal best in the shot put, coming in third place overall with a 14.08 meter throw. He finished in second place in the discus with a throw of 43.30 meters, and picked up a 37.28 meter throw in the hammer throw event, placing ninth.

Muller competed in one event for Wentworth, placing fifth in the pole vault with a 3.70 meter finish.

The Leopards are back in action Saturday, April 2, when they compete in the Tufts Snowflake Classic.
