Moser and Pierce Earn All-Region Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Juniors Kyle Moser (Southbury, Conn.) and Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology track and field team picked up end of year honors, as both received selections to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2022 Division III Outdoor Track and Field All-Region team, as announced by the association Thursday, June 23.

Student-athletes were named to the all-region team by being a top-five individual in each event from each region, in addition to each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team.

Moser picked up the award in the shot put, as the junior set a new program record in the event this year (15.11 meters). He finished in first place in the event at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships April 30, where he had his record-breaking throw. He had three first-place finishes in the event this year, while also adding two second-place performances.

The discus is where Pierce earned the award, coming close to breaking his previous program record in the event, which he set in 2021. The junior took home first place in the event at the CCC Championships this year, in addition to two other first and second place finishes on the season. At the NEICAAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, he placed 18th with a throw of 43.34 meters.
