BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) capped off an impressive indoor season by finishing eighth at the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. With his eighth-place finish, Pierce earns All-America honors for the first time in his career.

Pierce, competing in the first flight, set the tone early by launching his first throw 16.10M, breaking both his personal best and the program record. It was the second time in as many meets he threw over 16 meters and marked the fourth time this season he broke the program record. This mark placed him first in his flight and seventh overall, advancing him to the finals.

In the finals, he had throws of 15.65M and 15.55M and held onto eighth place to earn the program's second All-America honor since its inception in 2016. Pierce joins current assistant coach Dan McSolla '18, who earned All-America honors in the mile in the program's first season.
