Pierce Places Fourth at NEICAAA Championship with (Another) Shot Put Record

DEDHAM, Mass. – The records keep falling for Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) as the senior broke his own record in the shot put, placing fourth at the NEICAAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Northeastern University Track.

After fouling in his first two attempts, Pierce's third throw went 15.42M. His next two attempts were also fouls before he unleashed a throw of 16.75M, surpassing his previous record of 16.16M which he set last week. As of Saturday night, this mark moved him to ninth on the NCAA Division III performance list, almost solidifying his qualification into the national championship later this month.

In the pole vault, junior Eli Sleasman (Albany, N.Y.) placed 10th, with a top mark of 4.45M, while junior Tyler Klockars (Phillipston, Mass.) was 20th in the javelin (51.80M).

The Leopards' entry in the 4X100M relay – freshman Kevin DeCollibus (Wareham, Mass.), freshman Will Stewart (Windham, Maine), sophomore Ryan Abbotoni (Windham, Maine), and sophomore Scott Stehlik (Northport, N.Y.).
