PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Senior Jared Pierce (Biddeford, Maine) concluded his outstanding Wentworth Institute of Technology track and field career with an eighth-place finish in the shot put at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held at St. John Fisher College.

Pierce, competing in the second flight of the event, had a throw of 16.25M in his second throw to place fifth in his flight. That throw was the eighth-best throw of the event, which advanced him to the finals and held up as the eighth-best throw overall to earn him All-America honors, on the heels of being named an All-American in indoor track this past March.

His throw of 16.25M was the third furthest throw of his career, as he topped the 16M mark for the fourth time in his career. He leaves the program holding the program records in the shot put, discus, and hammer in outdoor and in the shot put in indoor.
