Oshman, Zegowitz Sweep Weekly GNAC Awards

BOSTON, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's volleyball team swept the Great Northeast Atlantic Conference awards in the first week of the season, with senior Hunter Oshman (Pennington, N.J.) being named the GNAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week while freshman Matthew Zegowitz (Westford, Mass.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week. The awards are for games played from January 16-22.

In a five-match week, Oshman averaged 2.45 kills and 1.64 digs per set. His top performance of the week came against Emmanuel on January 17, a 3-1 win where he posted 14 kills. At the SUNY Poly Wildcat Invitational on January 20-21, Oshman recorded 13 kills in a five-set loss to Nazareth before being named the All-Tournament team.

In the first five matches of his career, Zegowitz hit .529 while also averaging 0.95 kills and 0.91 blocks per set. Against Nazareth on January 20, the rookie notched 10 kills and hit .769, good for third-most on the team. In a 3-1 win over SUNY Poly the next day, Zegowitz totaled seven block assists en route to the Leopards' second win of the season.

Wentworth is 2-3 this season and visits Regis Wednesday night for a GNAC showdown.
