Men's Cross Country Finishes 3rd at Ron Ouellette Invitational

BIDDEFORD, Maine - The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team returned to action Saturday, competing in the Ron Ouellette Invitational in Binneford, Maine.

The Leopards had seven members of the team compete, with senior Rob Pineault (Andover, Mass.) leading the way for Wentworth, finishing the 8k in 30:52.4, finishing 11th and scoring 10 points. Graduate student Will Allen (West Hartford, Conn.) picked up 11 points with a time of 31:06.0 and placing 12th. Earning 13 points with a 15th place finish was junior Brendan Jeanjaquet (Weymouth, Mass.), who crossed the finish line in 31:38.7. Right behind him in 16th place and a time of 31:39.2 was sophomore Jack Chausse (Newport, R.I.), who picked up 14 points.

Following closely was freshman Christian Vallerand (Woburn, Mass.). The first year Leopard finished in 31:46.1, picking up 15 points and placing 17th. Classmate Robert McCue (East Weymouth, Mass.) came in 20th place, finishing in 33:07.8. Fellow freshman Nicholas Whitcomb (Plymouth, Mass.) had a time of 37:37.8 and placed 29th on the day.

Next up for the Leopards is the Pop Crowell Invitational in Wenham, Mass. on Sept. 18.
