Men's Cross Country Picks Up Second Place Finish at Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, Mass. - The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team had a strong showing Saturday, finishing second at the Pop Crowell Invitational in Wenham, Mass.

 

The Leopards had nine members of the team running in the 8k Saturday, with senior Rob Pineault (Andover, Mass.) finishing in 10th place with a score of 10 and finishing in 29:23.9. Sophomore Jack Chausse (Newport, R.I.) was right behind him, picking up 11 points with a time of 29:33.4 and placing 11th. Graduate student Will Allen (West Hartford, Conn.) followed closely, earning 13 points with a 14th place finish and crossing the finish line in 29:55.2. Just behind him in 15th place was freshman Christian Vallerand (Woburn, Mass.), who finished in 29:56.7 and a score of 14.

 

Junior Brendan Jeanjaquet (Weymouth, Mass.) picked up a 17th place finish, getting a score of 16 and a time of 30:00.6. In 24th place with a score of 20 was sophomore William Carpenter (Salisbury, Vt.), who finished in 31:24.9. Freshman Andrew Benoit (Douglas, Mass.) finished 36th, scoring 24 and crossing the finish line in 33:30.1 Right after him was classmate Robert McCue (East Weymouth, Mass.) who finished 37th in 33:33.2. Finishing out the day for the Leopards was Nicholas Whitcomb (Plymouth, Mass.), who was closely behind in 39th place and finished in 34:29.3.

 

Next up for the Leopards is the Codfish Bowl in Boston, Mass. on Sept. 25.
