Men’s Cross Country Finishes First at Codfish Bowl

BOSTON, Mass. - The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country took home first place at the Codfish Bowl Invitational Saturday at Franklin Park in Boston.

 

Wentworth had eight members run in the 8k Saturday, with senior Rob Pineault (Andover, Mass.) finishing in 2nd place, earning two points and finishing in 29:58. Sophomore Jack Chausse (Newport, R.I.) finished shortly after, coming in third place with a time of 30:02 and three points. Freshman Christian Vallerand (Woburn, Mass.) came in fourth place, picking up four points and crossing the finish line in 31:19. Just behind him in 5th place, with a time of 31:30 was junior Brendan Jeanjaquet.

 

Sophomore William Carpenter (Salisbury, Vt.) finished with seven points, coming in seventh place and finishing in 32:51. Finishing in eighth place with a time of 34:24 was freshman Andrew Benoit (Douglas, Mass.). Classmate Robert McCue (East Weymouth, Mass.) finished in ninth place with nine points and crossed the finish line in 35;13. Finishing out the day for the Leopards was Nicholas Whitcomb (Plymouth, Mass.), who came in 10th place and finished in 36:54.

 

After a week off, the Leopards return to action Oct. 9 at the James Earley Invitational in Westfield, Mass.
