SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Wentworth Institute of Technology men's cross country team finished in seventh place at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship Saturday, Oct. 30 in Springfield, Mass.
Wentworth had eight runners in the 8k. Sophomore Jack Chausse (Newport, R.I.) turned in the best time for the Leopards, finishing in 26th place in 28:36. Graduate student Will Allen (West Hartford, Conn.) finished in 42nd place with a time of 29:08. Senior Rob Pineault (Andover, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 29:12, earning 45th place. Coming in 55th place with a time of 29:48 was sophomore William Carpenter (Salisbury, Vt.).
Not far behind, finishing in 30:00 even and coming in 61st place was freshman Christian Vallerand (Woburn, Mass.). Junior Brendan Jeanjaquet (Weymouth, Mass.) turned in a time of 31:08 and came in 77th place. Finishing 82nd was freshman Robbie McCue (East Weymouth, Mass.), who crossed the finish line in 31:26. Finishing the day for Wentworth was freshman Nicholas Whitcomb (Plymouth, Mass.), who came in 99th place and finished in 33:31.
The team now prepares for their final meet of the season, the NCAA Regional Championship Meet, which takes place Nov. 13 in Boston.
