BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman pitcher Julie Schriver (Moscow, Pa.) of the Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week. Schriver earns the award for games played from April 10-16.
In a 4-0 weekend for the Leopards and a 2-0 slate for Schriver, the rookie struck out eight batters across the two wins. In a 3-2 edge over Gordon on April 15, Schriver only surrendered five hits before posting a 1.00 ERA and striking out three in a 6-1 shutdown of Suffolk the following day.
Schriver holds an impressive 10-1 record this season with a 1.93 ERA and 47 strikeouts.
Wentworth travels to a non-conference doubleheader at Regis tomorrow.
