BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Danielle Weiler (Becket, Mass.) of the Wentworth women's soccer team has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week for the week ending October 24.
Weiler played a key role in the Leopards posting a 2-0 record for the week, as she notched a goal in each game. In a 6-0 win over Nichols, she scored a goal – her first career marker – in the 12th minute to give Wentworth a 2-0 lead before closing out the week with a goal with 3:15 left in overtime to lift the Leopards to a 1-0 win over Anna Maria.
On the season Weiler had played in all of Wentworth's 16 games, starting nine of them. She has tallied a pair of goals for four points for the 6-9-1 Leopards. Wentworth sits in ninth place in TCCC with a 5-6-1 record. A win against Colby-Sawyer in the regular-season finale on Wednesday evening, combined with a Curry win over Nichols, would send the Leopards to TCCC Tournament.
