HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Wentworth took control early, putting pressure on the Eastern Nazarene defense and attempting five shots in the first 25 minutes, with three of those going on target.
  • The Leopards finally broke through at 33:01 when senior Neva DiBlasi (Salem, N.Y.) got control of a loose ball on the right side. She fed a pass to freshman Mckenzie Collins (Seymour, Conn.), who put home a shot from beyond the top of the box. Two minutes and 52 seconds later Wentworth struck again as senior Ashley Molnar (Northridge, Calif.) slid a pass through the middle to freshman Jenny Montville (Plainville, Mass.), who buried a shot inside the left post.
  • At the 49:34 mark, freshman Felicity Gonzalez (Moorpark, Calif.) put the hosts ahead 3-0 when she capitalized on a loose ball after a misclear and scored from in front.
  • Eastern Nazarene got its only goal of the contest at the 59:22 mark. Junior Rachel Pieger (Oakville, Conn.) served a free kick towards the box. A Wentworth player and an Eastern Nazarene player got tangled up, which screened sophomore keeper Adrianna Arona (Westfield, Mass.), allowing the ball to bounce in.
  • Montville tacked on her second of the game at 75:38 when senior Gabriella Scarpone (North Andover, Mass.) lofted a pass over the defense right in front of the box. Montville put the feed home inside the right post. Junior Adriana Valenti (Bolton, Mass.) made it a 5-1 game at 86:14 when she intercepted a pass and fired home a shot from 35 yards out.

  • Today marked the 22nd all-time meeting between the two teams with Wentworth holding a 16-4-2 series advantage. The Leopards have won the last four series meetings.
