Women's Cross Country Makes its Varsity Debut

BOSTON, Mass. – Making its varsity debut, the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's cross country team competed at the Suffolk Short Course Classic Friday afternoon in Franklin Park.

Five Leopard student-athletes were among the 84 runners who competed in the three-kilometer race, which included nine institutions across all three NCAA divisions.

Freshman Ashley Perry (Londonderry, N.H.) was Wentworth's first runner, finishing 55th (47 points) with a time of 14:08.9. Junior Colleen Sullivan (East Bridgewater, Mass.) was 62nd (52 points) with a time of 14:46.0. Sophomore Eleni Christopoulos (Knoxville, Tenn.) picked up 58 points for the Black & Gold by finishing 75th (15:53.2), while freshman Erin MacLean (Newton, Mass.) was 79th (17:09.3) for 59 points. Junior Virginia Partlow (Mechanicville, N.Y.) crossed the line with a time of 17:57.1, which was good for 81st place (60 points).

Wentworth will next compete at the Ron Ouellette Invitational in Biddeford, Maine on Saturday, September 11.
