Women's Cross Country Comes in Seventh Place at CCC Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's cross country team earned a seventh place finish at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship in Springfield, Mass. Saturday afternoon.

 

Eight Wentworth runners competed in the 5k. Junior Annabel Chu (Raynham, Mass.) had the best time for the Leopards, finishing in 25:46 and picking up a 20th place finish. Freshman Ashley Perry (Londonderry, N.H.) earned a 41st place finish with a time of 27:18. Finishing 66th was junior Colleen Sullivan (East Bridgewater, Mass.), who crossed the finish line in 29:34.

 

Freshman Erin MacLean, (Newton, Mass.) finished in 31:12 and came in 75th place. Right behind her in 76th place and a 31:19 finish time was sophomore Eleni Christopoulos (Knoxville, Tenn.). Just seconds later, freshman Tallah Ryan (Waterford, Conn.) crossed in 31:21, picking up 77th place. Freshman Megan Leger (Westminster, Mass.) came in 84th place, crossing the finish line in 33:14. Finishing things off for the Leopards was junior Jordanna Belle-Isle (Center Conway, N.H.), who was right behind Leger with a time of 33:15 and an 85th place finish.

 

The Leopards finish their 2021 season in two weeks, when they compete at the NCAA Regional Championship Meet at Franklin Park in Boston.
