King Paces Women's Cross Country at Ron Ouellette Invitational

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's cross country team competed on Saturday at the Ron Ouellette Invitational. The first 5K race of the season was run at Rotary Park.

Seventy-one student-athletes representing eight institutions competed where the Leopards picked up a seventh-place finish, scoring 176 points.

For the second meet in a row, freshman Annie King (Wakefield, Mass.) was Wentworth's top finisher, as she placed 12th with a time of 21:31.7, missing a top-10 finish by 33 seconds. Sophomore Annabel Chu (Raynham, Mass.) was the next Leopard to cross the line, finishing with a time of 23:31.1 to place 32nd and earn 31 points. Freshman Makayla Gasper (Manchester, Iowa) finished 44th (38 points) with a time of 24:59.8. Sophomore Erin MacLean (Newton, Mass.) placed 57th (47 points) with a time of 27:15.2, while senior Jordanna Belle-Isle (Conway, N.H.) rounded out Wentworth's top five finishers, as she placed 58th (48 points) after crossing the line with a time of 27:18.0.

Sophomore Megan Leger (Westminster, Mass.) placed 66th for the Black & Gold with a time of 31:10. 3.

Wentworth next competes at the Pop Crowell Invitational next Saturday (October 17) on the campus of Gordon College.
