King Leads the Way for Women's Cross Country at Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, Mass. - Freshman Annie King (Wakefield, Mass.) posted a 12th place finish at the Pop Crowell Invitational, run on the campus of Gordon College.

The 6K event featured 97 student-athletes representing eight institutions. Wentworth posted a seventh-place finish with 165 points.

King ran the course in 25:10.1, finishing outside the top 10 by 14 seconds. Senior Annabel Chu (Raynham, Mass.) was 28th, crossing the line in a time of 27:00.4. Freshman Makayla Gasper (Manchester, Iowa) scored 38 points with her 46th-place finish with a time of 28:47.8. Sophomore Erin MacLean (Newton, Mass.) crossed the line with a time of 29:57.8, good for 59th place (43 points). Senior Jordanna Belle-Isle (Conway, N.H.) rounded out Wentworth's top five runners, finishing 68th (44 points) with a time of 31:40.6.

Sophomore Megan Leger (Westminster, Mass.) also competed for the Leopards, finishing 85th (35:28.8).

The Leopards compete again next Saturday (September 24) at the Codfish Bowl Invitational at Franklin Park in Boston.
