Chu Paces Women's Cross Country at James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Senior Annabel Chu (Raynham, Mass.) led the women's cross country team as the team competed in the James Earley Invitational held in Westfield, Mass. on Saturday morning.

The 5K event featured 167 runners, comprised of NCAA Division III schools, club teams and unattached runners. The Leopards finished 19th with 425 points.

Chu finished the race in 47th place with a time of 20:31.11 (46 points). Freshman Annie King (Wakefield, Mass.) finished just behind her teammate in 62nd place with a time of 20:45.95 (60 points). Freshman Makayla Gasper (Manchester, Iowa) placed 112nd with a time of 22:43.03 (106 points). Sophomore Erin MacLean (Newton, Mass.) notched a 132nd place finish with a time of 24:38.32 (122 points). Sophomore Megan Leger (Westminster, Mass.) and senior Jordanna Belle-Isle (Conway, N.H.) rounded out the Leopards' runners, finishing at 154th and 155th place, respectively. Leger finished with a time of 27:34.81 (141 points), while Belle-Isle finished with a time of 28:23.64 (142 points).

The Leopards compete next on Saturday, October 15, at the Suffolk Invitational held at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
