Women's Cross Country Competes at CCC Championship

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Wentworth Institute of Technology women's cross country team came ready to run at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon as freshman Annie King (Wakefield, Mass.) and senior Annabel Chu (Raynham, Mass.) both finished in the top-25 for the black and gold.

The 6K event featured 90 runners composed of eight of the NCAA Division III CCC schools. The Leopards finished seventh with 196 points.

King placed in 21st with a time of 25:41.5 (21 points) while Chu finished just behind in 25th with a time of 26:14.9 (25 points). Freshman Makayla Gasper (Manchester, Iowa) finished in 57th, marked with a time of 28:56.0 (47 points). Sophomore Erin MacLean (Newton, Mass.) was next to finish for the Leopards, posting a time of 31:18.1 (51 points).

The Leopards finished with senior Jordanna Belle-Isle (Conway, N.H.) placing 73rd with a time of 31:22.3 (52 points) and sophomore Megan Leger (Westminster, Mass.) finishing 81st with a post of 32:51.8 (55 points).

The Leopards run next at the NCAA Regional Championship Meet in Brunswick, Maine on November 12.
