WENHAM, Mass. – Junior Erin MacLean (Newton, Mass.) was the first member of the Wentworth Institute of Technology women's cross country team to cross the finish line as the Leopards competed at the 2023 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships.
The 6K race was run at Gordon College with Suffolk capturing the championship with 44 points and Gordon's Rachel Brennen finishing first among 78 competing student-athletes. Wentworth was seventh, amassing 214 points.
MacLean, who led the Leopard for the fifth time in as many races this season, picked up 45 points with her 55th-place finish with a time of 28:27.9. Senior Eleni Christopoulos (Knoxville, Tenn.) placed 64th (48 points) with a time of 30:09.9, with freshman Summer Daniels (New Bedford, Mass.) completing the course in a time of 31:08.8 to finish 68th (50 points). Sophomore Annie King (Wakefield, Mass.) placed 71st (52 points) with a time of 31:347.1, while senior Dionne Ang (Victoria, Australia) rounded out Wentworth's scoring runners with a 76th-place finish (54 points), crossing he line with a time of 33:34.0.
Junior Megan Leger (Westminster, Mass.) had a 77th-place finish for the Black & Gold (36:56.6).
Wentworth ends its season on Saturday, November 11, at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championships.
