BOSTON, Mass. – On the heels of being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, sophomore opposite side hitter Jon Roat (Macedon, N.Y.) has earned ECAC North Region Player of the Week honors.
Roat averaged 4.00 kills per set and hit an impressive .542 for the week while also recording 11 digs and three blocks. In a 3-1 win at Lasell, he had 15 kills, eight digs, and two blocks while hitting .481 and finished the week by recording 13 kills on 21 swings with zero attack errors (.619) in a 3-0 win at Emerson. On the season he is averaging 2.85 kills, 1.31 digs per set while hitting .317.
Wentworth sits at 20-8 overall and wrapped up GNAC play with a 12-2 record. The top-seeded Leopards will host fourth-seeded Emmanuel in a semifinal match on Thursday.
