Student-Athletes Recognized on CCC Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team
Forty-three student-athletes representing nine Leopard winter and spring sports honored for their work in the classroom
Five hundred and ninety-seven Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) student-athletes were honored on Tuesday afternoon as the league announced its spring academic all-conference team. The spring list includes participants from each of the CCC's member institutions who participated in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's golf, men's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's tennis, and women's track and field. Competitors in the men's track and field invitational were also honored.
In order to be recognized as a member of the Academic All-Conference Team an athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore academic status.
Included among the honorees are the 10 winners of the CCC Scholar-Athlete awards, which are given to a student-athlete who is either graduating or has exhausted his or her athletic eligibility in their respective sport. Additionally, there were 15 major award winners who earned spots on the winter/spring academic all-conference team as well as 129 All-CCC members on this year's list. Of those, 49 earned first team honors, 42 were second-teamers, and 38 were on the third team.
Wentworth's 43 Academic All-CCC selections span the sports of baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, golf, ice hockey, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, softball, and men's tennis.
