BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Daniel Gallegos (Monterrey, Mexico) of men's tennis and graduate student Briana Beverly (Pawcatuck, Conn.) of softball have been named Leopards of the Week for the week of March 27-April 2.
Gallegos swept his week, going 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles en route to being named Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week. The Leopards went undefeated throughout the week and the junior didn't surrender a single set in all three of his singles' matches.
In a doubleheader sweep of UNE on April 2, Beverly batted .714 (5-for-7) with a pair of doubles, four RBI, an on-base percentage of .714. In an 11-0 win over the Nor'Easters, the graduate student went 3-3 at the plate, accounting for two doubles and three RBI on her daily total.
