Topher Chirico of men's ice hockey and Ryan Ballard of men's cross country earn this week's honors
BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman Topher Chirico (Overland Park, Kan.) of men's ice hockey and junior Ryan Ballard (Norwalk, Conn.) of men's cross country have been named Leopards of the Week for the week of October 28 – November 3.
Chirico was a brick wall in his collegiate debut for the Leopards, stopping 26 of 28 shots from UMass Dartmouth in a 5-2 win. Chirico's win in goal, featuring a .929 save percentage, helped Wentworth earn their third straight season-opening win.
Ballard paced the Black & Gold to a fourth-place finish at the Conference of New England Championship, finishing 10th just behind teammate Ezra Blasko. His 26:08.61 race helped him secure another top-ten finish at the conference championship, a feat he has accomplished in each of his three seasons.
