Bio
Christine Pereira began her tenure as Wentworth's Deputy Director of Athletics on January 6, 2025.
Pereira was on the Explorers’ administrative staff for four years, starting as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance in August 2020, before being elevated to her most recent position two years later. In this role she served as a member of the senior administration team where she was the sport administrator for the sports of cross country, track & field, rowing, and acro & tumbling; identified professional development opportunities for coaches, staff, and student-athletes to ensure growth; provided career coaching to include job interview preparation, networking tools, and resume creation to over 350 student-athletes; restructured LaSalle’s student-athlete advisory committee’s implementing structure to include helping to stretch reaching within community involvement; facilitated programming and educational opportunities for all Name, Image & Likeness opportunities; and created and updated department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all NCAA attestations.
Additionally, she oversaw all facets of the LaSalle compliance office to include monitoring cost of attendance equivalencies, outside scholarships; certifying all initial and continuing eligibility, progress toward degree, admission and graduation requirements as legislated through the NCAA and Institution Admissions Department.
Prior to arriving at LaSalle, Pereira spent nearly two years as the Director of Athletic Compliance at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas where she was the primary compliance contact for the football, golf, soccer, and track & field programs while also serving as the secondary sport administrator for the swimming & diving program. She oversaw the institution’s drug testing program, developed and conducted monthly rules education for staff and student-athletes in addition to providing NCAA bylaw interpretation requests to ensure institutional control, and was the liaison for all institutional camps and clinics, ensuring they were within compliance with NCAA rules.
Pereira spent two and a half years as an Athletic Compliance Coordinator at the University of Richmond where her duties included drafting and submitting NCAA waivers and petitions for 16 Division I sports, and she was an Athletic Graduate Compliance Assistant at neighboring Northeastern University for a year and a half.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida and her Master’s degree in Sport Leadership from Northeastern.
