Entering his 11th season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Wentworth, Arlen Galloway looks to make another deep run in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament after a strong 2022-2023 campaign. 

The Black & Gold continued their reign as one of the top teams in the CCC in 2022-23 as Galloway’s 17 wins marked the most in any one of his 10 seasons. Wentworth closed the regular season winning eight out of nine games, including a big win at home over Western New England, before making its ninth appearance in the CCC Tournament under Galloway. In the CCC Tournament, the Leopards advanced to the semifinals after defeating Suffolk in the opening round. Two stuent-athletes earned all-conference honors while an additional, senior Jack Schaake, was named the CCC Scholar-Athlete award recipient. 

Wentworth enjoyed the finest season of Galloway’s tenure during the 2019-2020 campaign as the Leopards finished with a 16-11 record, made a 15th straight appearance in the CCC Tournament and advanced to the CCC Semifinals for the first time since the 2016-2017 season. Wentworth’s 16 wins were the most since the 2012-2013 season and the Leopards’ appearance in the semifinals came as the Black & Gold erased a halftime deficit to Salve Regina in the quarterfinals with an eye-popping 35-1 run. 
 
In Galloway’s fist season, the Leopards may have posted a 12-15 record, however they pulled off a major upset in the quarterfinals of the CCC Tournament. As the seventh-seed, Wentworth knocked off second-seeded Eastern Nazarene in the quarterfinal round. 
 
After starting the 2014-2015 season 0-4, the Black & Gold rolled off four straight wins to even its record at 4-4 at semester break. After a loss to Division I Boston University, Wentworth picked up its next two wins before dropping five in a row. However, the Leopards would go 6-3 over their final nine regular-season games to finish as the number four seed in the CCC Tournament. Wentworth edged fifth-seeded Gordon in the quarterfinal round before pulling away from upset minded and eighth-seeded University of New England in the semifinals. In the program's first title game appearance since 2011, Wentworth traveled to top-seeded Endicott where the Gulls pulled away in the second half to claim the conference championship. 
 
The 2015-2016 campaign saw a fourth-place selection in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll and a 13-5 conference record, including two wins over eventual CCC Champion Endicott, placed the Black & Gold second in the CCC. Galloway was named the CCC Coach of the Year for leading his team to the second-place finish. 
 
The Leopards clinched the fifth seed in the 2016-2017 playoff push, and advanced to the semifinal round for the seventh time in the last eight seasons. Wentworth saw three standouts achieve All-CCC status following the 2016-2017 campaign, including defensive player of the year honors for Sam Knollmeyer. Knollmeyer took home the major award for the first time in Wentworth hoops history since 2011, and was additionally named to The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, which recognizes basketball student-athletes whom excel in academics during the season. 
 
During the 2017-2018 season, the Leopards finished with a 14-12 record, which was good for the number six seed in the CCC Tournament. The Black & Gold battled third-seeded Endicott in the conference quarterfinals, however, came up short in a tightly contested battle between the two teams. Wentworth began the season with an 8-2 record, which included winning all five games the team played during the month of December, and had a key win down the stretch over Western New England to solidify its conference playoff berth. Three members of the squad were honored by the league as Sam Knollmeyer became the first player in program history to win the CCC Defensive Player of the Year award more than once and he also picked up the league’s senior scholar-athlete of the year award. Jason Ganley and Stephen Azums were also named All-CCC. Knollmeyer and classmate Ben Kizel were named to the NABC Honors Court while, as a team, the Leopards earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the first time in program history. 
 
After losing seven seniors to graduation, the 2018-2019 campaign saw Wentworth make a sixth straight CCC Tournament appearance under Galloway and unprecedented 14th overall postseason berth. The Leopards lost three games by a combined eight points, including dropping a close contest to nationally ranked and Elite Eight participant Nichols to end the regular season. Junior Stephen Azums, who recorded his 1,000th career point, was named All-CCC, while senior Zach Bergeon was named to the NABC Honors Court. As a team Wentworth earned its second straight NABC Team Excellence award. 

In 2021-22, the Leopards made the CCC Tournament for the eighth time under Galloway while advancing to the tournament quarterfinals. During the season, Wentworth picked up a pair of victories over fourth-seeded Suffolk, while also defeating top-seeded Nichols at home. 
 
Prior to arriving at Wentworth, Galloway spent two seasons as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Cornell University where he helped the Big Red improve on its previous season’s win total in his two years at Cornell, including 13 victories in 2012-13. In 2011-12, Cornell knocked off eventual Patriot League champion and NCAA darling Lehigh as part of a 10-3 campaign at home. He worked in nearly every aspect of the program, including playing an essential role in practice preparation and team travel. 
 
Prior to his stint at Cornell, Galloway spent two seasons as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Middlebury College where he played an instrumental role in the Panthers posting an impressive 53-6 mark, including a 28-2 record during the 2010-11 season. That season saw Middlebury set a program record for wins and reach the semifinals of the Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament for the first time in program history after capturing the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship with wins over Amherst and Williams. During the 2009-10 campaign the Panthers finished 25-4, advanced to the finals of the NESCAC Tournament, and earned the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. While at Middlebury he assisted in all areas of the program, including recruiting, scouting, and film breakdown. He coached three All-NESCAC performers, a pair of NESCAC Defensive Players of the Year, and an All-American. In both seasons the Panthers were nationally ranked by D3Hoops.com and finished the 2010-11 season ranked third in the country. 
 
Galloway spent a pair of seasons (2007-09) as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Kenyon College. During this time the Lords compiled a total of 29 wins, which included 16 triumphs in the 2008-09 season. In 2008 Kenyon achieved its best North Coast Athletic Conference achievement in 14 years and the following season reached the conference semifinals for the first time in 14 years. While on the Lords’ staff he served as the lead recruiter and assisted in scouting, practice and game planning, and on-floor coaching. Kenyon had the 2008 NCAC Rookie of the Year and the 2009 NCAC Player of the Year during his tenure. 
 
During the 2006-07 season Galloway began his coaching career at Washington (Md.) College where he assisted in scouting, film breakdown, on-floor coaching, and skill development workshops. He also served as the program’s lead recruiter and helped to develop a Second Team All-Centennial Conference performer. Additionally, he directed the annual Take it to the RAC summer basketball camp. 
 
A native of Windham, N.H., Galloway was a four-year letterwinner at Kenyon where he played in 99 games, averaging 4.1 points for his career. During his sophomore season he averaged 6.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game and when his career ended he ranked among the program leaders in 3-pointers made, attempted, and 3-point field goal percentage. During both his junior and senior seasons he was the recipient of the Scott Selby Award, given annually to the player who best embodies the ideals of the men’s basketball program.” He earned a Bachelor’s degree in political science in 2006.
