WILBRAHAM, Mass. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team had a tune-up for the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship by competing at the four-team Western New England Invitational on Wednesday afternoon. The Leopards carded a 332 to finish fourth, three strokes behind the third-place Golden Bears. Nichols (309) and Roger Williams (312) finished first and second, respectively.
Senior Wil Eddy (Kingston, Mass.) recorded a top-10 finish, shooting an 81, while junior Jared Turgeon (Dover, N.H.) finished tied for 10th with an 82. Sophomore Albert Duart (Lleida, Spain) placed 15th with an 84. Junior Nick Kurtz (Dover, N.H.) and senior Sancho Rodriguez (San Roque, Spain) both tied for 16th with an 85.
The CCC Tournament will be a two-day event held on Sunday and Monday, April 25-26, at the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club in Beverly, Mass. The CCC Champion receives the conference automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships in Oglebay, Wv., May 11-14.
