WARWICK, R.I. – Wrapping up a stretch of four rounds in four days, the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team placed seventh at the RIC Spring Invitational, a two-day event held on Friday and Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Senior Ben Wright (Boxborough, Mass.) carded a two-day total of 154 (78-76), which placed him second among 48 competitors. Wright's 154 was just two shot off the lead.
  • Sophomore Nico Alonso (Madrid, Spain) placed 26th, shooting a 173 (87-86) over the 36 holes.
  • Junior Dan Clapp (Rehoboth, Mass.) tied for 36th. He shot a 182 (91-91) in the two rounds.
  • Sophomore Luke Boccelli (Pepperell, Mass.) was 38th as he went 92-91 to finish with a 183.

NEXT UP:

  • Wentworth will wrap up its season on Wednesday with a dual match against Suffolk.
