Lackner Places Third at Mitchell Invitational

GROTON, Conn. – Freshman Ethan Lackner (Brooklyn, Conn.) recorded his second top-five finish of the season to help the Wentworth Institute of Technology golf team place third at the Mitchell Invitational.

The Leopards placed third as a team, carding a 340. Mount St. Mary's finished first (326) with Emmanuel coming in second (335). The host Mariners were fourth (406). Emmanuel's Ian Reynolds was the medalist with a +5 (76).

Lackner placed third, firing a 79 to finish three strokes off the lead. Classmate Ryan Vincent (Carver, Mass.) tied for sixth with an 84.

Senior Dan Clapp (Rehoboth, Mass.) tied for 10th with an 86, while junior Nico Alonso (Madrid, Spain) was 14th with a 91 to round out Wentworth's scoring golfers.

Junior Luke Boccelli (Pepperell, Mass.) shot a 93 to finish 15th.

Wentworth is back in action on Wednesday, October 11, at the Warrior Classic in Bloomfield, Conn.
